Last weekend Tomas Slavik was taking part in his last race of a season. 4th round of City Downhill World Tour at Taxco, Mexico. In between the fastest urban racers all over the world Slavik was able to get 3rd what gave him enough points for 3rd place at City Downhill World Tour overall!
Track at Taxco was probably the hardest venue from the tour. Not only because its very physical, but especially because of few sections where riders were attacking 60km/h right on stairs! Madness, but same for everyone out there. Next special thing about Taxco was the crowd – about 20 000 spectators cheering for the best atheletes, amazing atmosphere.
„ I really have to say that I havent felt good on my bike. After such a long season I have started few weeks ago with hard trainings and its always hard to race while you are having conditional „winter“ training. Anyway I got over it somehow and started feeling quite good. Did few changes on my setup and was really worth it. Some section were so fast and wild that you were sometimes becoming a passenger on your own bike. A lot of good riders went down hard. In the final I was giving it all and ended up on 3rd place. Jumped up one position in overall ranking and ended up 3rd at City Dowhnill World Tour 2014 overall. Really stoked about that! Crowd was going insane and we were real stars for them. Thanks Mexico, bring on next season..“
Slavik is now training hard for next season back in Czech Republic and next race is in January when the „Downmall Tour“ in Europe starts. Tomas is a big favourite for overall win, lets see how he is going to do.
